The government shutdown has ended ... for now

As we reported, the federal government shut down on the evening of January 19, 2018. While Congress still hasn’t come to an agreement on funding, they have voted to reopen government during negotiations until February 8.

What this means:

All federal government entities are now back open for business.

But the work is not finished in Congress. The issues that led to the government shutdown, DACA, defense spending, border security, and children’s health care, are still on the table for negotiation. If Congress does not come to a consensus on those issues by February 8, the federal government may shut down again.

As before, Nextep will closely monitor the situation and keep you updated.
