The Department of Labor has released an updated labor poster regarding the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
It is mandatory for all employers with more than 50 employees in a 75-mile radius to begin displaying the poster no later than March 8, 2013.
The new poster makes three primary updates to the older one:
- Broadens the definition of veteran to include a veteran discharged within the past five years.
- Differentiates the definitions of serious injury or illness for service members and veterans from the definition of serious health condition under which nonmilitary employees may qualify.
- Notes that special hours of service eligibility requirements apply to airline flight crew employees.
