Giving Tuesday = Receiving Tuesday
Nextep was excited to be one of the many organizations recognizing Giving Tuesday, with our teams of employees generously giving back to the community all season long.
The Giving Tuesday network collaborates year-round to inspire generosity around the world, with a common mission to build a world where generosity is part of everyday life. Learn more about this movement here.
This fall, Nextep allowed each department within the company to choose an organization in need. The Nextep Charitable Foundation provided money for them to donate to these organizations. Then, the departments volunteered their hours and labor at their chosen organizations. We call this volunteer time “Nextep Gives Back Day.” But we’ve turned one day into many, with departments volunteering their time all season long!
Nextep’s people-first commitment extends outside of our workplace, too. We encourage our employees to serve the organizations they’re passionate about and invite them to do so on company time. In one year alone, our employees generously volunteered more than 1,600 hours to empower and enrich the community!
From families and schools to charities and businesses, we’re removing the barriers that keep people in need from moving forward and donating our time and dollars to make a positive impact. It’s been an honor to visit with these hardworking organizations and to learn about their missions. Check out a few deserving organizations we’ve worked with this season!
Infant Crisis Services
Infant Crisis Services (ICS) believes that no baby should go hungry. Early childhood nutrition is integral to our community’s health and future. When our babies and toddlers are able to get the food they need to grow big and strong, we all win.
Nextep couldn’t agree more and has been working with ICS for years to help out. This season, several members of our Payroll team volunteered to help with diapers, diapers, and more diapers! They were on diaper duty, moving and distributing supplies.

Sunhive Collective creates a safe and inviting space for young adults with disabilities to grow in their daily living, social, and transitional skills. Each person’s individual and unique abilities are cultivated and fostered through organic, hands-on experiences that help them thrive while building meaningful relationships within the community.
Members of Nextep’s risk, marketing, and training departments teamed up to spend some quality time with the people at the organization. Between playing games, checking out their chicken coop, and singing along to songs, a great time was had by all.

Bridges empowers high school students in family crises to pursue education without obstacles. They offer housing on a sliding scale, school assistance, an employment program, mentors and tutoring, life skills, and social services to these teens and young adults.
This is another organization Nextep has partnered with for years, and we were honored to have the chance again to do some volunteer work for them.
Members of Nextep’s tech team spent time with this organization. Bridges accepts many different types of volunteer efforts, including tutoring, mentoring, driving, recycling, landscaping, and minor maintenance.

Loveworks Leadership is dedicated to nurturing young leaders, providing transformative afterschool leadership development opportunities for every student.
For over a decade, they’ve positively impacted students across diverse socioeconomic and cultural spectrums through their youth development programs. One of these programs includes an actual business their middle schoolers created, Wrist World!
Nextep has had the pleasure of volunteering with this organization for years, as well, and were happy to lend some more time to them. Volunteering can take many forms at Loveworks – learn more here. To donate to Loveworks, visit their website.
We’re thankful for these important organizations that are improving their communities. Happy Giving Tuesday, today and every day!
