From May 15 – 23, 2021, Nextep hosted its first-ever Virtual Volunteer Week! This year, the Nextep Gives Back committee came up with several ways for Nextep employees to volunteer virtually or in person. Nexteppers had the opportunity to create donation kits for their favorite nonprofits, pick up trash in their communities, volunteer locally, or perform random acts of kindness in small groups. Employees could also volunteer with local nonprofits if they felt comfortable doing so!
“Since the pandemic, our people have missed our Nextep Gives Back day tradition,” said Brian Fayak, Nextep founder and CEO. “We came up with creative ways to volunteer safely as a company with options for everybody. From volunteering in-person with local nonprofits that need a helping hand to donation opportunities, we had something for everyone!”
Nextep’s marketing and operations support teams gathered toilet paper, toiletries, cleaning supplies, food, and more for Bridges, a local nonprofit housing homeless teens. The Nextep risk team gathered snacks, baby supplies, and clothes for the Infant Crisis Center. Our Austin Sales team picked up trash in a local park, and our Oklahoma Sales team volunteered at Positive Tomorrows. These are just a few examples of how Nextep employees gave back to the community during Virtual Volunteer Week.
In total, Nextep donated 176 hours during virtual volunteer week! For more information about the Nextep Charitable Foundation, visit nextep.com/about/foundation.
