Nextep, a certified PEO based in Norman, OK, is celebrating a major milestone.
Not only did the company turn 20 this year, but it also amped up its technology, instituted a family-positive policy, and gained IRS certification. The company isn’t stopping there. In the coming months, Nextep has plans to showcase even more technology for its clients and reach new goals.
“We’ve grown in the last 20 years, and we’ll continue to grow, but I’ve never lost sight of the dream to give small businesses the same benefits that large companies offer with personal and flexible services,” said Brian Fayak, president and CEO. “It’s still what I’m passionate about today.”
From a one-man office to 100+ employees, Fayak has created a company that prides itself on making business easier for its clients.
However, the journey hasn’t always been an easy one.
“We have seen some significant progress and met many milestones, but we have not been without our rough times, from financial to technological,” Fayak said. “The important thing is we kept going and we didn’t give up. We continue to improve our resources so we can provide the best services possible.”
Fayak started Nextep, which at the time was called Adminisource, in a one-room suite in The Dillard Group building in Norman, Okla. After a few location moves and bumps in the road, Fayak pushed the company to new levels, acquiring the original office building where it all started. He bought it and made it what it is today, Nextep’s state-of-the-art corporate office.
Having a modern office wasn’t Fayak’s only goal. He wanted an environment and culture that made people want to come to work. In 2006, the company earned the first of many recognitions as a “Best Place to Work.”
“Nextep elevates and enriches people’s lives because of the employees and their commitment,” Fayak said. “Our company is a success because of them and we want them to have the best, so we continue to provide the tools they need to accomplish that.”
