All employees must be notified of the Healthcare Marketplace, or Exchange, no later than October 1.
The Department of Labor (DOL) has provided a model notice that provides employees with information about the Exchange, or “Marketplace,” created by the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
The notice includes sections in which the worksite employer must share information regarding the company’s health plan(s) and the extent to which offered coverage meets minimum value and affordability. All employees must receive the Exchange Notice, regardless of employee or company participation in a health plan.
Clients who utilize Nextep’s large group medical plan do not need to take any further action. Nextep will disseminate this information directly to employees. Nextep’s Benefits Department will contact all other clients in order to assist with the next step.
